Embassy Circle Guest House

What our guests say about Embassy Circle Guest House B&B

If you agree that one of the greatest benefits of traveling the world is meeting interesting people, you will especially enjoy our charmingly cosmopolitan inns. It is not unusual for us to host guests from many different nations and continents. Tourists and business travelers, researchers and educators, artists, writers, politicians and political activists gather around the breakfast table daily. The conversation is wide-ranging and spirited, and you may leave the table with a list of exhibitions to see, restaurants to try, books to read, movies to view, classes to take, issues to follow, new contacts to pursue – or new friends and new countries to visit!

“Thank you for the best hospitality I have ever encountered in my travels around the world. Your guest house is truly beautiful and exquisitely comfortable. The location – a safe and beautiful neighborhood of elegant period homes, close to the Metro and many excellent neighborhood restaurants, cafes, shops and art galleries … could not be more pleasant or convenient. Thoughtfulness is evident in everything, from the bedside lamps, to the highest quality foods for breakfast. But above all, I appreciated the warmth and sincerity with which you and your staff welcomed me and made me feel at home throughout my stay.”
Camrose Burdon – Ottawa, Canada

“We have stayed in many excellent B&B’s in several countries in the last few years, and Embassy Circle is up there with the very best. A beautiful home in an excellent location, with hospitality that would be hard to beat. If we failed to complete our sightseeing schedule, it was only because we spent far too long at the breakfast table enjoying the company of our fellow guests and hosts.”
Jane & Tim Rowley – UK

“We had a wonderful time here. Obviously, the building and rooms are beautiful. But the conversations, at breakfast and in the evening before dinner, have been terrific, adding character to the space.”
Robert Miller and Donna Brooks – New Hartford, CT

Marie & Gilles Jodoin – Montreal, Canada

“Where to begin? The location is ideal, a couple of blocks from the Dupont Circle metro stop. The neighborhood is safe, lovely, and best of all, quiet … but restaurants, stores and nightlife are mere blocks away. The house itself is quite wonderful. The architecture has been preserved through a thorough and thoughtful renovation and the result is a clean, bright, elegant and comfortable place to stay. Breakfast and snacks are great … organic yogurt, scrumptious fruit salads, fresh-baked scones, etc., all consumed in good company. The thing that impressed me most was the people. My hosts, Laura and Raymond, were charming and considerate and the guests were delightful. We had dinner one night, courtesy of a guest and Raymond, and sat and talked for hours. You won’t miss not having a television. I will definitely stay here again.”
Stephanie Goetz – Park Ridge, IL

“To share the gift of conversation at the breakfast table with people from all around the world is a pleasure I have denied myself for too long. Thank you for being an oasis.”
Swanie Schmidt – San Diego, CA

“What a wonderful and warm welcome in a large city. Laura, Raymond and their staff treat you like family. The Dupont Circle location is convenient to the Metro on a quiet, tree-shaded street. The neighborhood has easy walking to eclectic shopping and vibrant dining. An amazing value! Thank you.”
Jim & Kay Maynard … Mukilteo, WA

“Seven women, three generations of one family, discovered the Embassy Circle Guest House online and descended on it for a weekend stay. Everything about our stay delighted all generations. The guest house is an extraordinary restoration: the room accommodations are beautiful, the housekeeping A-plus, and the breakfast a treat. The area is quiet and nights are undisturbed by city chaos. The location is perfect for sightseeing. Many sites were easily walk-able, even by the oldest, and the metro was very convenient. The hosts and staff were so friendly we considered adopting them into the family. We will treasure and discuss our experience often.”
Nora O’Malley – USA

“Laura & Raymond … Thank you for a truly special visit. Embassy Circle Guest House should really be named Embassy Circle Guest “Home” since you both give so much of yourselves and you have made such a beautiful home for your guests. After such an enjoyable first morning at breakfast with both of you and the other guests, I couldn’t wait to share the next two! Nellie, you add such a beautiful spirit and your hospitality is unsurpassed. I can’t wait for my next visit to DC.”

We have lived around the world and stayed in some of the most famous hotels The Embassy Circle Guest House surpasses them all for us and we recommend it wholeheartedly.”

“As a female traveler it’s wonderful to have a “home away from home”. Embassy Circle Guest House has become that for me. The owners and the staff feel like family. The neighborhood is beautiful with easy access to shopping and fine restaurants. I walked to a charming little restaurant just a block away and was warmly welcomed. I returned to the Inn after 10:00 PM and felt perfectly safe on the well-lit street. In the mornings I enjoyed jogging through the neighborhood and identifying the many nearby embassies. The Metro, Washington’s efficient subway system is an easy walk from Embassy Circle. At Embassy Circle I was treated like a dignitary and felt like a queen. Thank you!”

Laura and Raymond and their staff welcome you with their genuine hospitality, and the delicious food and lively conversation set the tone for your day. A generous spirit is extended outward. How could we not enjoy ourselves?”

“From the moment we walked through the front door it felt like home! The magnificent restoration is awe-inspiring. The architecture, antiques and splendid artwork are a visual treat that would satisfy any soul; but what makes a home exude warmth is the people inside. Nelly and Ingrid greeted us right away with smiles and could not do enough for us. Chatting at breakfast with fascinating guests from around the world was an added delight. Thanks for your kind hospitality. We could not have chosen a more comfortable home surrounded by the best company anywhere.”
Merillyn and Marty Chicknavorian … Fitchburg, MA

“This has been one of my most pleasant stays to date! I was greeted warmly and treated like family from the moment I walked in the door. As I was walking in, I was kindly fixed a plate of delightful fresh fruit, honey yogurt and exotic cheeses. The room was spacious and immaculate, with very comfortable linens and beautiful rugs. The whole place felt like home. Staying at the Embassy Circle Guest House is like stepping into and ever-shifting micro-community, a home away from home situated in a beautiful, convenient part of DC. My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer.”

From the minute you walk through the door you will realize this bed and breakfast is special. The house is beautiful, with soaring ceilings and custom doors and moldings. The architecture is only surpassed by the service, conversation and hospitality from owners Raymond and Laura, as well as the staff, Nelly and Ingrid. If you are looking for a special stay, we highly recommend Embassy Circle.”
