The Embassy Circle Guest House is located in the beautiful Northwest section of Washington, DC, in the downtown neighborhood of Dupont Circle. Dupont Circle is centrally located and incredibly convenient with its many restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores, interesting small shops and night life. Whether you are flying, taking the train, driving, or coming by Metro (subway), the Embassy Circle Guest House is convenient and easy to find.
Driving Directions
Directions from the North (Baltimore, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware and New York)
Take I-95 South to I-495 West. Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue South. Continue on Connecticut Avenue for about 7.0 miles. Turn right onto R Street and follow R Street for 3 1/2 blocks until you reach 2224 R. The Guest House is on your left. Pull up across our driveway to unload your car and check in.
Directions from the South (Richmond)
Take I-95 North to I-395 North to Route 1 (14th Street Bridge). Follow 14th Street until you reach R Street. Turn left on R and follow R street for approximately 10- blocks. After you cross 22nd Street, the Guest House will be the last house facing R Street on your left. Pull up across our driveway to unload your car and check in.
Directions from the West (Pittsburgh, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois)
Take I-70 East to I-270 South to I-495 East. Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue South. Continue on Connecticut Avenue for about 7.0 miles. Turn right onto R Street and follow R Street for 3 1/2 block until you reach 2224 R. The Guest House is on your left. Pull up across our driveway to unload your car and check in.
Directions from the West (Dulles Airport)
Take Dulles Toll Road to I-66 East to Washington. Cross over the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge. Take the left-hand exit and carefully follow the signs to E Street. Immediately as you come out of the E-Street tunnel, turn left at the light at 20th Street. Follow 20th Street to Massachusetts Avenue. Turn left on Massachusetts Avenue. Turn right at the first major intersection onto Florida Avenue. Turn left at the first traffic light onto R Street. Continue on R Street for 1 1/2 blocks until you reach 2224 R on your left. Pull up across our driveway to unload your car and check in.

Take the Yellow Line from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metro Station toward Mt. Vernon Square/Convention Center. At the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metro Station, transfer to the Red Line, toward Shady Grove. Get off at Dupont Circle - North/Q Street Exit (third stop). At the top of the escalator, turn left on Q Street and walk one block to 21st Street. Turn right on 21st Street (the Phillips Collection Art Gallery will be on your left). Walk one block and turn left on R Street. Follow R Street for 2 1/2 blocks until you reach 2224 R. We are on the left.

You will find that you probably don't need (or want) a car in the city. Transportation is very convenient by Metro (subway) or taxi. Take the 5A Metrobus from Dulles airport to the L'Enfant Plaza Metro (subway) station in Washington, DC. Union Station

Trains
There is a free shuttle that constantly shuttles between BWI and the Amtrak BWI Airport Station. There are two types of trains that run at different times from the station to Union Station in Washington, DC. From Union Station, take the Metro (subway) Red Line to the Dupont Circle Metro Stop (North/Q Street Exit). All train options take about an hour and a half.
The first and cheapest option is the MARC train (Maryland Commuter Rail - weekdays only) at approximately $6 one way, from The Amtrak BWI Airport Station to Union Station in Washington, DC. This is a commuter train that runs on weekdays only.
The second cheapest option is the regular Amtrak train. You can buy your tickets in advance, online, or at the station. Prices are higher on holidays and weekends.
All of the trains end at Union Station and you can take the Red Line Metro (subway) at Union Station. Transfer to the red line train toward Shady Grove. Get off at Dupont Circle - North/Q Street Exit (2nd stop). At the top of the escalator, turn left on Q Street and walk one block to 21st Street. Turn right on 21st Street (the Phillips Collection Art Gallery will be on your left). Walk one block and turn left on R Street. Follow R Street for 2 1/2 blocks until you reach 2224 R. We are on the left.
Bus/Metro (subway) Combination
There is an express bus that runs every 40 min. from BWI to the Greenbelt Metro Station. Cost is $2.00 and time is about 40 min. At the Greenbelt Metro Station, take the Green Line to Fort Totten Station (fourth stop). Transfer to the Red Line toward Shady Grove. Get off at Dupont Circle - North/Q Street Exit (third stop). At the top of the escalator, turn left on Q Street and walk one block to 21st Street. Turn right on 21st Street (the Phillips Collection Art Gallery will be on your left). Walk one block and turn left on R Street. Follow R Street for 2 1/2 blocks until you reach 2224 R. We are on the left. .This is the best option for those who are familiar and comfortable with public transportation. The Metro website is www.wmata.com or www.metroopensdoors.com.
