Meet the Owners
Larry Casazza, MD MPH

For those of you wondering why this pediatrician/global health specialist is involved in the Woodley Park Guest House, the answer is quite straightforward. When he is not on assignment in Africa or Southeast Asia, he’s keenly interested to meet the hundreds of interesting and engaging guests who come to stay at the House. Naturally, these interchanges lead to opportunities to share ideas, compare notes, and in some cases, have resulted in a collaborative effort of some sort.
Creating awareness about the impact of malaria on the health of children and pregnant women, especially in Africa, is a frequent theme around the Guest House breakfast table when he is in town. After tuning into these discussions for several years, it is rumored that the rest of the staff can share the same information.
For the time being, Larry is on assignment in Nairobi, Kenya. But he returns to Washington, DC whenever possible – he misses the Guest House atmosphere that much. He also comes home to visit his two grandsons out in Seattle who will be ready to go on safari with him in a few more years. |
Breakfast is an important part of your stay at the Woodley Park Guest House. Our breakfast includes wonderful pastries baked fresh daily. Enjoy flaky scones, buttery croissants, fruit-filled turnovers and sweet cinnamon rolls.
Our signature dish is our delicious fresh fruit salad, which includes at least a dozen kinds of fruit every day. We also offer breads from the local organic farmer's market for toasting, a choice of cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, orange juice, coffees and teas.
Breakfast is served at
7:30 AM Monday - Friday and
8:00 AM Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
For those who would like a cup of coffee or a full breakfast before 7:30 AM, (8 AM on weekends and holidays), the neighborhood offers multiple options. We are conveniently located across the street from one of the nations most ubiquitous coffee purveyors (open at 6:30 AM), and a full breakfast menu is available at several neighborhood restaurants.

“Thank you, Courtney and staff. This is a great B & B! Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious; the fresh fruit and pastries were highlights. The location is excellent – close to shops, restaurants, the subway and a beautiful park. Everyone is very friendly and made us feel at home. We will definitely recommend Woodley Park Guest House to our friends.”

“This is an amazing place to stay. As a single woman conducting a job search in a new city, it has been an extraordinary place to come back to each day. It is safe, clean, warm and comforting like home. The staff provides many D.C. resources (books, brochures) to facilitate navigating through the city. Every morning there is wonderful coffee and an amazing fruit salad. I feel very fortunate to have found such a place.”
